Into The Studio

Flickershow is taking a break from playing shows for a bit while we head into the studio to record a brand new CD. In the meantime, we wish you all a wonderful holiday. See you in the new year!

Where is Nowhere?

imageCelebrate the release of our pal David Hein ‘s new CD, North of Nowhere, with a party at Healey’s on Wednesday, October 18th!

There will be great roots-rockin’ tunes from David and his band, and we’ll be opening things up with a set of Flickershow tunes. And just to make it that much cooler, Clark will be coming out of hiatus (for one night only! as they say) to play with us and the David Hein Band!

Plus, David’s shows are always huge fun. Come, get yourself a CD, and wish him well on his cross-Canada, cross-USA tour!

Success

Thanks to everyone who made it out to our show at the Renaissance on Friday… we’d actually been dreading it a little bit, since we moved house on the same day! But in fact, the move went smoothly, and the evening turned out to be one of our best acoustic shows yet.

We hadn’t heard Floxy Blu in quite a while, and Friday she kept everyone spellbound with her soaring voice, unaccompanied (except by the audience, on “Hallelujah”). Thanks and best of luck to her in her new job Stateside!

And there were other really cool surprises: a couple of friends we used to jam with back in high school showed up unannounced to catch the show. Neither lives in Toronto, and we hadn’t seen either of them in years. Kyle even joined us on harmonica for “Gold Thieves”.

(Hmmm. Now we’re tempted to dig around in our vaults to see if we’ve got a snippet of Flickershow: The Acton Years for you all to hear…)
